Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day!  A special word of thanks goes out to all fathers.  Our fathers have a strong and formative role in our lives from an early age.  We also recognize others who have had a paternal influence and formed us into the people we are today.

As the foster father of Jesus Christ, St. Joseph is the patron saint of all fathers. This prayer is especially well suited for fathers to ask for the graces and strength necessary to rear their children well, or for children to pray on behalf of their fathers.

We place our fathers under the guidance and protection of St. Joseph and pray:

Glorious St. Joseph, foster-father and protector of Jesus Christ! To you I raise my heart and my hands to implore your powerful intercession. Please obtain for me from the kind Heart of Jesus the help and the graces necessary for my spiritual and temporal welfare. I ask particularly for the grace of a happy death and the special favor I now implore.
