Conception unifies apostolic works under new brand
CONCEPTION, Mo. — The monks of Conception Abbey have been living, working, and praying in the rolling farmlands of northwest Missouri for 145 years. Our roots within the Benedictine tradition are strong and run deep.
Over time, Conception’s apostolic works within the Abbey, Seminary College, Abbey Guest Center, and The Printery House have flourished. As is common, each began to take on their own identities as well, appearing to the public under a variety of logos and brands throughout their histories.
In an effort to unify our ministries under one upgraded logo and message, Conception is introducing a fresh look that both honors the 145-year tradition and offers a consistent, cohesive message to all audiences across a variety of mediums.
“We believe this new brand will help us illustrate our commonalities across the many apostolic works of Conception,” said Kaity Holtman, Director of Communications. “Together all of our departments will brand as Conception.”
The Rule of St. Benedict underlies every aspect and apostolic work of Conception. The values of Benedictine hospitality, service, faith, daily work, and contemplative prayer are the unifying themes that tie together everyone at Conception.
“It is our hope that our unified brand will help our many external audiences to make connections that each of our ministries are tied together,” Holtman said.
“When someone receives a card made at The Printery House, we want them to make the connection that this is the same place where the monks pray for and minister to the Catholic Church. When someone sees a listing for an upcoming retreat at the Abbey Guest Center, we want them to remember that the priest serving their parish is an alumnus of the Seminary College and has spoken highly about the out-of-the-way setting Conception offers.”
