With Gratitude

Cindy Staten, our faithful Associate Director of Development, is retiring this Friday after seventeen and a half years of service to the Abbey.  Everyone who has worked with Cindy knows her to be hard working, dedicated, dependable, and just a pleasant person to be around.  She has worked in the Development Office throughout the years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share.  She has done so much for the Abbey over the years, and while we wish her well in her retirement, we are sad to see her go.

As the recently appointed Director of Planned Giving, I have only worked directly with Cindy since late-August, but she has been so helpful in answering all of my questions.  Some of my basic questions are probably the kind that any other person would laugh at me for asking, but Cindy is always patient and kind.  Our offices are right next to each other, so people who are coming to my office have to walk through her office first.  I often tell Cindy that it is her job to filter out all of the crazy people who come by to see me.

Wednesday afternoon we had a reception in her honor, complete with good food and lots of familiar faces.  Thank you for your wonderful work, Cindy.  We will miss you!
