New Beginnings

For some time now I have thought about creating a blog to give others insight into our way of life as Benedictine monks at Conception Abbey.  Our lives as monks, offered to Christ, encounter many great joys and blessings, which I hope to share and communicate with all who access this blog.  It will serve as a good way of staying in contact with our many friends and benefactors who have experienced the peaceful environment and the beauty of prayer with the monastic community.

After discussing it with the Abbot and a few of my confreres, I decided to entitled this blog, “Listen, my Son” –the opening word taken from the prologue of St. Benedict’s Rule for monks.

May all of us listen carefully and attentively to a loving God who calls us ever closer each day.
