The Monks Visit their Neighbors
Every year on the Feast of St. Scholastica, the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration invite the monks over to their monastery for Evening Prayer and supper. St. Scholastica is the sister of St. Benedict. It is an event that we always look forward to. The monks arrived around 5:00pm on another cold winter day.
Below: The sisters greeted us in the entrance, and we had time to visit before prayer.
Below: The monks and sisters lined up alternating “boy-girl” for prayer.
I have never been to Clyde and had a bad meal. We were served roast beef, green beans, and mashed potatoes.
The monks return the hospitality during Easter week, when we have the sisters over for prayer and a meal.
