The Unconquered Snow
It was yóu who fíxed the bóunds of the éarth,
yóu who máde both súmmer and wínter.
-Psalm 74:17
The snow prevented many people from coming into work yesterday. Br. Blaise, our “weather-monk”, measures the temperature, snowfall, and precipitation daily. It was difficult to predict accurately how much snow there was on Tuesday due to the strong wind and snow drifts, but he said about 7 inches.
I guess one could say that the snow is beautiful to look at and only affects you adversely if you have to go outside or travel. But, many people do, in fact, have to travel, so we pray for their safety.
Enjoy some more pictures from around the Abbey grounds, captured yesterday.
