Winter Storm Nika
Snow began to fall gently around 11:30am this morning, and it has not stopped as we move into the evening. Many of the schools in the local area, including Northwest Missouri State, were cancelled even last night as they anticipated the storm. Somewhere between 2-4 inches of snow have fallen, making the roads pretty treacherous by dinner time. One of the good things about living in a monastery is that you do not really need to go anywhere: Church, meals, bed, it’s all right here and I do not even have to go outside.
We will see what things look like in the morning.
In other news, our Gifts Manager and my coworker, Faith Murray, had her baby girl earlier this afternoon (7 lbs. 3 oz.). She and her husband named their first child, “Carina” (sorry, not “Nika”). Congratulations! All of those who work in the Development Office cannot wait to meet the new addition to the Murray family.
